Twitlinks!

Gary made some weeks ago a web app named TwitLinks that gathers links from top tech writers on Twitter as a kind of live zeitgeist. As soon as I found out about it I couldn't help making some graphics for it. I've been using Twitter for a while and all the bird-related aesthetics are very pleasing to work with:

So I had the idea of keeping the sky-blue and bird aspects of Twitter and add a geeky touch with the laptop and glasses. Am I original or what?

What wasn't easy at first but now I'm pretty setisfied with is that I used Illustrator to get the thing done. As some of you may know, I'm not a vector guy. I'm a photoshop guy. A sketchy guy. I think those looks suit this kind of apps better, so I give it a try.
Of couse, after that I got all excited about making things and changing bit and reusing parts, so I made a few more posses for our feathered fellow, then I made the obvious 404 error page that cannot be missing:

I like the 50's-ish flat tubes and the yellow helmet I gave him.

After all this, I was ready to make myself a stripped down background for my own Twitter account featuring our little fellow and clouds, thought to be tiled and lightweight. You can see it in use here.

Featured in Shift Japan

I can't believe how I forgot about this. Back in December I was contacted by Gisella Lifchitz who writes for Shift, an E-zine from Japan, published in both english and japanese. She found my/this website by chance, and wanted to make me an interview. WTF? Me? Oh, nice. So some time later I met her at a cafe here in Buenos Aires and chat for more than an hour about lots of things. It was weird to talk about myself, but at the same time a nice ego boost and one of those small signs you're on the right track.

So thank you Gisella for your interest and the things you say there!

You can read the interview online here.

UPDATE: It seems the folks at Shift are under site redesign, I've found this link that seems to work while the previous one don't. Good luck!

Danke Ehrensenf!

lady from ehrensenf
Earlier today I had one of those random weird moments you get from time to time by the marvels of the internet. My friend Peter from the great german Lemotox podcast told me he was watching Germany's best known web tv when he saw me being featured (I'm at 2' aprox). Well, I can't tell you I understand what she said, but I suppose it was something great because I'm seeing now several visitors coming here for the first time. What's even better is that they choose a very special piece to feature, the tragic story of John and Betty.
Strange enough, it's been 5 days since I got back home from Germany itself, and this has nothing to do with that! Man life is a bit crazy sometimes.
So thanks for your interest, thanks Peter for discover it, and special thanks to the people at Ehrensenf for the mention!
